The Green Dragon Tavern Still Lives!

The Green Dragon Tavern Still Lives
by Paul Nally

G’day, Lads and Lassies,

Ye Sons and Daughters of Liberty, take heart! The Green Dragon Tavern still lives!

Patience and planning are the watchwords. As Congressman Davey Crockett once said, “Be sure you’re right … then go ahead!”

This long train of abuses by these three branches of this government have now countenanced intolerable acts of Despotism, fostered

Trans-Pacific Partnership TPP: A Threat to United States Sovereignty Presentation

(unedited version here)

The 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact continues on its way toward Congressional consideration. President Obama and the 11 other heads of state will formally sign the agreement in New Zealand on February 4, paving the way for Obama to send the agreement to Congress. Once he does, Congress has 90 days to make its “yes or no” choice.

Whatever the agreement’s impact on the American … Read more...

CONGRESS RE-WRITES the 10th AMENDMENT

By
Mary Kay Bacallao, Ed. D.

The U.S. Senate Education Committee met with House members and approved a compromise version of the Every Student Succeeds Act last week. They plan a full vote on the bill shortly after Thanksgiving. The “Sense of Congress” as expressed in the House version, flies in the face of the 10th Amendment. Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution lists the enumerated powers of … Read more...

Two More Outlandish Rulings – Now What?

by Richard J. Arena

Two shocking rulings handed down by the Supreme Court this week – one, King V. Burwell, rewriting the precise language of the Affordable Health Care Act, the other, Obergefell V. Hodges, assuming federal authority to define marriage, illuminate a central flaw in the American system of government – as it now exists. That flaw is the lack of a realistic institutional check on unconstitutional federal activities.… Read more...

The Time has come-

By
Paul L. Nally

Not To ask what price our Liberty, but what price inattention to it.

Mrs. Katharine Johnston’s death should never have happened. Then the Habersham child and now David Hooks.

As a former Police Chief and Judge, I have found it useful to look to the past for guidance and understanding. In 1604 Lord Coke ruled that (paraphrasing) a man’s home is his castle, and if the … Read more...

PENDING TRADE ACTIONS TPA/TAA/TPP CLARIFICATIONS, BACKGROUND, DISCUSSION AND MY THOUGHTS

by Larry Laibson

The general public is significantly confused on the complex “alphabet soup” trade proposals being talked about in Congress and the Media. Something as important as this 11 Nation deal that encompasses a broad spectrum of areas, including but not limited to “Trade, should be transparent at least on its overall scope and general objectives.  The absence of this transparency, especially with the many time spoken goals of … Read more...

Magna Carta Libertatum And The Murder of David Hooks –

By
Paul Nally

The Great Charter of Liberties, commonly referenced simply as “Magna Carta” or, in the vernacular, “the Great Charter”, the founding document of all Common Law countries, celebrates its 800th birthday June 15th.

This document was hoped to bring peace between the King and his subjects in the time of King John. As was the usual reason for dissent, John, who had lost his ancestral lands in France … Read more...

CLARIFICATIONS AND ACTIONS ON TRADE PRIORITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT (TPA) VS TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP (TPP)

By
Larry Laibson

There are many major issues and questions on both Trade Priorities and Accountability Act (TPP) and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). There is confusion of what these entail and what is actually being voted on in Congress.  Are there Constitutional issues regarding “Powers” and responsibilities?  Is TPP really a Treaty? What does it cover and why is there such extensive secrecy?  Will America’ Sovereignty be affected?

Congress is voting … Read more...

Dine and Dash in the US Economy, Reconsidering Ian Ruined’s “I at Least Shagged” – A Siren’s Song to the American Odyssey

(Please note that Michael Anderson is a respected MD practicing as a pediatrician and constitutional attorney who clerked for a Federal Appeals Court Judge.  He, as all our writers, is a Madison Forum Member.)

Reconsidering the Sirens’ song from Ayn Rand’s (aka “Ian Ruined”), that oddly influential book that may have been originally titled as “I at Least SHAGGED”.  Perhaps publishers believed US readers would miss the … Read more...

Families must refill their spiritual ammunition depot

by Donald S. Conkey

Recently I was asked to speak to the Woodstock Tea Party on the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States, a Constitution that was crafted with divine assistance to protect the “unalienable rights” Thomas Jefferson had embedded in the Declaration of Independence, the document that declared the colonists right “to assume among the powers of the earth” to become an independent … Read more...

Women Could Change Presidential Politics

By: J. Randolph Evans

With less than 180 days until the General Election, no one can predict what will happen on November 6, 2012. In fact, any one that says that they know what will happen probably knows the least about what comes next.

In the election for President, the campaigns of President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney will focus their efforts on framing the choice for Americans. After … Read more...
