The Madison Forum is very pleased to have Ph.D. Candidate, Micah Holston, to be the Guest Speaker, Monday, September 29th presenting: “Hypersonic HEMP Warfare – An Existential Threat to an Aging American Electric Grid!” This is a very timely topic, and worthy of strong consideration and ethical thought.
Micah Holston graduated from Kennesaw State University with a double major in Physics and Political Science and a triple minor in Mathematics, International Affairs, and Nuclear Engineering. He is currently pursuing a PhD in theoretical plasma physics at Auburn University. For the past 4 semesters, Micah interned with the Air Force Research Lab in Albuquerque, New Mexico, designing electron accelerators for the Space Force and coding weapon target assignment algorithms for Air Force directed energy weapons. His 90-page paper on how hypersonic HEMP warfare undermines mutually assured destruction is currently under review at the Air War College.
We wish to thank Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols for recommending Micah Holston to speak on this very important issue. We appreciate Commissioner Echols for his insightful recognition of this potential threat that the United States experienced in September 1859 now known as the “Carrington Event”. See Newt Gingrich’s statement on YouTube in circa 2002.
