The Madison Forum was pleased to have Timothy Furnish, Ph.D., Madison Forum Member, as our Guest Speaker at the Luncheon Meeting on October 12th at the Rib Ranch restaurant. Dr. Furnish gave us an informative session on  “Wars, Holy and Secular: Putin v. Obama in the Middle East.”

Furnish holds a PhD in Islamic, World and African history from Ohio State University.  He currently works as an author, analyst, guest lecturer, and consultant to US Special Operations Command on Islamic world issues.  He has written for “PJ Media,” “The Weekly Standard,” “History News Network” and “The Washington Times.” He is a US Army veteran, both enlisted and commissioned. And he has been a conservative since 1980 when his father threatened to disown him for voting and campaigning for Ronald Reagan.
